The PUQ Goal Setting Platform is operated by AwakeToPower and is the digital implementation of the PUQ (Pathfinder’s Ultimate Question) framework created by Falade Olaitan (B.Sc., MBA (HRM)), as described in the book “The Pathfinder: A Compassionate Guide for Finding Career Focus and Navigating Career and Personal Life Challenges.”

a) Account Information (Required)

• Full name
• Email address
• Password (stored as an encrypted hash — we never see your actual password)

b) Profile & Demographic Information (Required for platform use)

• Age band, gender, country, state/region
• Education level, employment status
• How you heard about PUQ

c) Journey Data (Generated as you use the platform)

• Your responses to PUQ Steps 1–9 (goals, values, scores, motivations, bridge plans)
• Weekly check-in entries (confidence scores, accomplishments, challenges)
• Bridge progress updates

d) Research Data (Only with your explicit consent)

• Survey responses (T0 baseline, T1 post-PUQ, T2–T4 follow-ups)
• Anonymised usage telemetry (time on task, completion rates)

e) Technical Data (Automatic)

• Browser type, device type, IP address (for security and basic analytics only)

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the service: Your account and journey data power the PUQ goal-setting experience.
• To personalise your experience: Your responses determine which goals, scores, and recommendations you see.
• To track your progress: Bridge progress and check-ins help you monitor your goal pursuit.
• To communicate with you: We send essential emails (password resets, follow-up survey invitations if consented).
• To validate the PUQ framework (research): Only if you explicitly consent, your anonymised data contributes to academic research.
• To improve the platform: Aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us fix bugs and improve the experience.

We do NOT use your data to:

• ❌ Build marketing profiles
• ❌ Make automated decisions that affect you

4. Research Data & Anonymisation

The PUQ platform doubles as a research instrument for validating the framework. This research is conducted under strict ethical guidelines:

• Research participation is entirely optional and separate from platform use.
• All research data is pseudonymised using a unique Research ID (e.g., PUQ-8F7A9B2C).
• Your name and email are never attached to research exports.
• Only aggregated, anonymised findings are published.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Hosting providers: Your data is stored on secure servers operated by our hosting provider, who is bound by data processing agreements.
• Email delivery: If you are sent emails (e.g., survey invitations), a transactional email service processes your email address solely for delivery.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government regulation.
• Academic publication: Only fully anonymised, aggregated data may appear in research papers.

6. Data Security

We take your security seriously:

• 🔒 Passwords are stored using WordPress’s secure hashing (bcrypt-based).
• 🔒 Research data is pseudonymised and stored separately from identity data.

While no system is 100% secure, we follow industry best practices to minimise risk.

7. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion request.
• Journey data: Retained while your account is active.
• Research data (if consented): Retained for the duration of the research study (estimated 3–5 years), then archived in anonymised form or deleted.
• Upon withdrawal of consent: Research data deleted within 7 business days.
• Upon account deletion: All personal data permanently deleted within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

10. Children’s Privacy

The PUQ platform is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has created an account, we will take steps to delete that account and its data.
