Withdraw Consent

Your data belongs to you. You have the right to withdraw your research consent at any time, for any reason, without penalty.

💚 Our Promise: Withdrawing your consent is simple, respected, and will never be questioned. We are grateful for any time you contributed to the PUQ research, and we fully honour your decision to step away.

What Does Withdrawing Consent Mean?

When you withdraw your research consent, you are telling us that you no longer want your anonymised data to be used in the PUQ framework research study. This means:

  • Your data will be permanently deleted from our research database.
  • Your responses will not be included in any future analysis or publications.
  • You will no longer receive follow-up survey invitations (T2, T3, T4).
  • Your decision will not affect your relationship with AwakeToPower in any negative way.

What You Should Know Before Withdrawing

⚠️ Important:
  • Already-published data: If your anonymised data has already been included in a published research paper or aggregated dataset, it may not be possible to remove it from that specific publication. However, it will be removed from all active databases and future analyses.
  • Platform access: Withdrawing research consent does not delete your PUQ platform account. You can still use the goal-setting tool. If you want your entire account deleted, please specify this in your request.
  • Irreversible action: Once your research data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. If you later wish to rejoin the research, you would need to provide fresh consent.

How to Withdraw Your Consent

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Find your Research ID.
    When you registered on the PUQ platform, you were assigned a unique Research ID (e.g., PUQ-8F7A9B2C). You can find this on your Dashboard or in your original registration confirmation. If you cannot locate it, simply provide the email address you registered with.
  2. Send us a withdrawal request.
    Email us at the address below with the subject line: “Withdraw Research Consent”. In your email, include either your Research ID or your registered email address. You do not need to give a reason.
  3. We confirm and delete.
    Within 7 business days, we will confirm your withdrawal and permanently delete your research data from all active databases. You will receive a confirmation email.

What We Will Delete

Upon receiving your withdrawal request, we will remove the following data associated with your Research ID:

  • Demographic information (age, gender, location, education, employment)
  • All PUQ step responses (goals, values, scores, motivations, bridges)
  • Survey responses (T0, T1, T2, T3, T4)
  • Weekly check-in entries
  • Telemetry and usage data
